On Tuesday, June 11th, twelve teens joined the first day of BEETS (Band of Environmentally Educated and Employable Teens) Program orientation. There were six returning teens and six new teens to round off the group. The day started at 12 noon with lots of paperwork and guideline reviews. Then an hour in the Daniel E. Koshland Community Garden for garden tours, getting-to-know-you activities and sun and bonding. There was a lot of tasting of berries and peas and checking out the herb beds. The teens enjoyed getting to know each other and are looking forward to an exciting summer.
